VITALII RUBAN

The portrait of a violinist was created based on a photograph by a Polish photographer. The studio photo itself was highly successful, showcasing the model in a pose that, together with the violin, conveyed a sense of balance. From a technical perspective, a single light source created a strikingly contrastive portrait that captivates the viewer from afar. The client clearly appreciated this and entrusted the creation of the painting to a Ukrainian artist, despite having the option to choose among professional Polish painters. The Polish client requested a change to the background of the original gray studio setting but didn’t have a specific vision in mind for the new background. Instead, he fully relied on the artist’s judgment. Vitalii, the artist, sent several concept drafts with different backgrounds, and they eventually agreed on a neutral one. The final background was designed with textured, voluminous blue smoke, adding a sense of depth and perspective to the portrait. The completed painting was successfully delivered to Poland and presented with great care as a heartfelt gift to the violinist.
